May 29, 2025   Goodbye Europe! Time to go home.

Our last day in Europe was met with mixed feelings from all of us. It's the kind of experience that at the same time felt long and over too quickly. It's similar to the "post Christmas blues". You look forward to something for a long time, put in the work to make it happen, the event goes quickly, and you feel a little depressed when it's all done. Rod and I recognize the blessing of time with our children, those still at home, those already on their own, and those somewhere in-between.

Looking back on the trip as a whole, it was everything we hoped for. There were no medical emergencies. The was no lost luggage. There were no delayed or canceled flights. There were no car accidents or breakdowns of any kind. All the goals we had at the beginning of the trip were fulfilled. 1. Get a break from the responsibilities of life back home. 2. See stuff you can't see in America. 3. Strengthen family bonds through new experiences, sometimes difficult ones, but ones you will laugh about in the future.

The last photos are "good-bye" photos of the Airbnb and travel photos to Allendale. We left Stirling around 8:30 a.m. and arrived in Grand Rapids airport around 9 p.m. which to our bodies was 2 a.m. The dog was happy to see us and we picked up our lives where we had left them three months before.

My last coffee at the Airbnb. I might have to ask for one of these coffee makers for Christmas!

The main room all tidy the way it was the day we arrived.

Our little courtyard.

Dropping the car off at the airport.

Returning the car.

Checking the suitcases.

Waiting for our flight out of Edinburgh Airport.

Not even sure where this is! It might be leaving Chicago.

This might be the Lake Michigan lakeshore.

Grand Rapids?

The Grand Rapids airport.

Paul looks pretty fresh for it feeling like 2:00 in the morning!

We are ready for bed!

Waiting for Aaron to pick us up from the GR airport.

What a blessed experience! Thank you Lord for your protection over this entire trip!
