March 24, 2025   **Grace to the Airport**😢


Today was an uneventful day. We took Grace to the Milan airport 40 minutes away, washed clothes, planned our trip to Turin for the following day, grocery shopped, got gas, walked around the villa grounds, and ate 1/2 kg of  grocery store gelato in our wing of the villa. (Not as good as gelato shop's gelato.)

 March 5-6, 2025.  We have safely arrived in Tuscany! It was a total of 24 hours of continuous traveling from door to door (Allendale to Montelopio). The views and weather are worth it!  The temperatures are highs in the upper 60s during the day and lows in the 40s at night.  The "Core 4" (that's shorthand for Rod, Katie, Paul, and Clare) playing Euchre in the Chicago airport during our 5 hour layover.  March 8, 2025  Today we explored the town of Peccioli, Italy which has its origins dating back to medieval times. The town's most notable historical feature is the Pieve di San Verano church built around the 11th-12th century.  We had our first gelato of the trip while in Peccioli. Yum!
