April 17, 2025 Back to Tourrettes-sur-Loup & A Late Night Walk Through Vence
We had another rainy day but still returned to Tourrettes for a second visit and one more shopping trip for French souvenirs. Collin had to pick up an illumination from Anastasia's shop and we wanted to sit outside a cafe and drink French coffee before we left France.
This was a trickle the first time we went to Tourrettes, but after a few days of rain, it turned into this.
The rain made the streets of Tourretts glisten and I couldn't help but take more pictures.

Sitting under an awning, on a rainy day in France, drinking cappuccino and Coke. What could be better? |
 |
Tiramisu and creme brulee! Delicious! (OK, that could make it better.) |
 |
Anastasia and her work bench where all the illuminations are made. |

Outside her shop with a tiny door. |

Simon, Collin, and Anastasia. The guys had to duck towards the back of her shop! That's a huge painted beam behind their heads. |
After dinner and the sun had set, we decided we needed to walk around old town Vence in the dark. The streets were wet from the light rain that had continued all day.

Clare and Francois! |

One of the fountains. |

The lookout spot near the 500 year old tree in previous posts. |

These men were decorating the arches with real flowers for Easter. |
 |
The back of this truck was full of real flowers! I wish we could have seen them in the morning, but we left early for Portugal. |

Goofballs! |

Leaving old town Vence through the wall for the last time. |
 |
Goodbye Vence! Thanks for your warm hospitality (and pastries)!

The French are nice people. We learned to lead with politeness in all interactions and they responded kindly! Here is our go-to phrase. Bonjour! Je suis desole, pas de Fancais. Pardon, tu parles Anglais?
Hello! I am sorry, no French. Pardon, do you speak English? We probably sounded like cave men to them but they appreciated our attempts.
Au revoir!
