March 31, 2025   A recovery day.


We stayed close to home today; walked to get our coffee and croissants, caught up on our personal journals, ate lunch at a local place that was full of workers on their lunch hour so you know it's the place to eat!, hung out, Clare played some piano, taught Collin the card game Nertz, cooked and ate at home, played more cards, and went to bed.

 March 5-6, 2025.  We have safely arrived in Tuscany! It was a total of 24 hours of continuous traveling from door to door (Allendale to Montelopio). The views and weather are worth it!  The temperatures are highs in the upper 60s during the day and lows in the 40s at night.  The "Core 4" (that's shorthand for Rod, Katie, Paul, and Clare) playing Euchre in the Chicago airport during our 5 hour layover.  March 8, 2025  Today we explored the town of Peccioli, Italy which has its origins dating back to medieval times. The town's most notable historical feature is the Pieve di San Verano church built around the 11th-12th century.  We had our first gelato of the trip while in Peccioli. Yum!
