May 10, 2025   A Hike in Garshellach Forest, Mass at St. Mary's, and an Italian Dinner at Mamma Mia!

Today was a quieter day and in true Morgan vacationing style, we rambled around a forest and made our own fun. Again, the weather was absolutely beautiful! I don't know where Scotland gets the reputation of being gloomy and rainy!? 😁 In the afternoon, we walked up the hill to St. Mary's for the Saturday night Mass because tomorrow's outing is a big one! Stayed tuned! After Mass, we tried out an Italian restaurant called Mamma Mia and since we have a month of Italy under our belts, we felt qualified to put it to the test. It passed! The host/server was a true Italian and spoke it fluently. We were scrambling to dust off the little Italian we had picked up in March and re-use it. Unfortunately, there was no gelato to order and that is our best Italian!

At the start of the day, Aaron shaved. And since he had gotten quite shaggy, we persuaded him to do it outside!

Looking back down the trail.

Flower petals are natures confetti and way better than glitter!

Everywhere looks like a Bob Ross painting.

I think I mis-identified this yellow flower as a broom plant. It is a Grose bush with spiky parts among the flowers.

Our hikers.

The hike was uphill.

Here is the food from Momma Mia.

Pasta with short ribs and sauce.

Gnocci with peas and pancetta.

Bolognese sauce spaghetti.

Pasta carbonara and pancetta.

Momma Mia!

The heather is blooming everywhere. 💕
