May 13, 2025   Cappuccino and Beer!


It was time for a lazy day! The morning started with cappuccinos and pastries at Janna's Bakery and Coffee Shop. It's always fun to sit outside and people watch while sipping coffee!  


We played some cards, ate lunch and dinner at home, and after dinner, Aaron the 20 year old, wanted to order a beer in a bar before he went back to America and had to wait a whole year before he could do it again. Rod, Aaron, Casey, and Paul headed into town to find the bar experience for Aaron. Clare and I stayed home.

 March 5-6, 2025.  We have safely arrived in Tuscany! It was a total of 24 hours of continuous traveling from door to door (Allendale to Montelopio). The views and weather are worth it!  The temperatures are highs in the upper 60s during the day and lows in the 40s at night.  The "Core 4" (that's shorthand for Rod, Katie, Paul, and Clare) playing Euchre in the Chicago airport during our 5 hour layover.  March 8, 2025  Today we explored the town of Peccioli, Italy which has its origins dating back to medieval times. The town's most notable historical feature is the Pieve di San Verano church built around the 11th-12th century.  We had our first gelato of the trip while in Peccioli. Yum!
