May 17, 2025   A Drive to Callander In Search of Bracklinn Falls.

We have seen one tiny, short sprinkle since we have arrived in Scotland May 1st. It has been unusually dry and beautifully sunny according to the locals. That said, the water levels of streams, and lochs have been low. We took a 30 minute drive to the town of Callander, parked, and hiked 30 minutes through beautiful woods and hills to Bracklinn Falls. With low water levels, we could climb among the rocks that, I suspect in a wetter spring, would have been under water. There were many people hanging out around the falls and some in swimsuits enjoying the water.

We started in the woods.

Passed a few fields.

Every where we hike has a great view!

I suspect these rocks are usually covered with water.

People were enjoying the day.

Aaron, Clare, Rod, and Paul.

Water is still running although less than normal.

Looking downstream there is a bridge you can see over Clare's head. We will be down there soon with pictures looking this way.

A view from the bridge looking upstream. A group of people having a cookout and swimming.

On our way back to the car.

Everywhere you look is a Bob Ross painting!

On the drive home, we stopped at a souvenir shop with a few Scotland Coos in a pen and some sheep in a field. Photo opp!!

Not all coos are brown.

Clare and her coos!

A field next to the coo's pen.

Rod was quite taken with this house!

Another view of the house so you can appreciate its happy situation in the countryside.

A beautiful day!
